'Mikado' excerpts at charity function

Excerpts from 'The Mikado' at the charity event 'When You Wish Upon A Star' Music Marathon at Romiley Forum

Hatherlow URC is organising a 12 hour Music Marathon to take place on 17 March 2012 to raise funds for 'When You Wish Upon A Star'. This is a Stockport based charity making dreams come true for children with life-threatening illnesses. Each year, fifty families from the North West are taken by the charity to Center Parcs in Nottingham where for some it is the only respite they will have for a very long time. The charity takes its own volunteer medics and equipment to ensure that every worst case scenario is covered and the children can enjoy their break with other sick children and their families and delight in taking part in games and dressing up for the big fancy dress party night (this year, Pirates of the Caribbean). As with everything, the down turn has hit charity fund raising and the annual children's holiday is under threat of being cancelled. The Music Marathon is being organised to raise funds for this charity and for this event in particular.

Woodley Players will support this event by singing excerpts from ‘The Mikado’ from 4.00 pm to 4.15 pm.
